Which Is the Largest IPL 2027 Home Stadium?

Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is the largest of the ten listed home grounds, with an IPL-listed capacity of 135,000. It is the home ground of Gujarat Titans and can hold more than twice the listed crowd of Eden Gardens, the second-largest ground in this group at 67,551.

Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur has the smallest listed capacity at 23,400. The gap between the largest and smallest grounds is 111,600 seats. Based on the IPL directory figures, Narendra Modi Stadium holds about 5.8 times as many spectators as Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Chennai Super Kings Home Venue: M. A. Chidambaram Stadium

M. A. Chidambaram Stadium is Chennai Super Kings’ primary home ground in Chennai. Many fans and scorecards refer to it as Chepauk, so both names describe the same venue. The IPL directory lists its capacity as 37,505.

CSK fixtures should only be assigned to Chepauk after the match schedule identifies Chennai as the venue. A home match can still be moved or allocated elsewhere for operational reasons.

Delhi Capitals Home Venue: Arun Jaitley Stadium

Arun Jaitley Stadium is Delhi Capitals’ main venue in Delhi and has a listed capacity of 37,306. Older records may call the ground Feroz Shah Kotla, its former name.

Fans checking historical DC records should recognise both stadium names. For IPL 2027 tickets and travel, the current name printed on the fixture or ticket is the one to follow.

Gujarat Titans Home Venue: Narendra Modi Stadium

Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is Gujarat Titans’ home ground and the largest stadium in the official IPL venue list. The ground is also widely associated with the Motera area, which explains why some older searches and articles call it Motera Stadium.

Its large seating capacity does not automatically mean every stand will be available for every match. Ticket inventory depends on the event layout and the areas released for sale.

Kolkata Knight Riders Home Venue: Eden Gardens

Eden Gardens is the primary home venue of Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata. Its IPL-listed capacity of 67,551 makes it the second-largest ground among the ten franchise home venues.

The stadium is different from grounds in nearby cities, so users booking travel should check that the fixture specifically says Kolkata and Eden Gardens.

Lucknow Super Giants Home Venue: Ekana Cricket Stadium

BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium is Lucknow Super Giants’ home ground in Lucknow. Its full name is Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, while fixtures commonly shorten it to Ekana Cricket Stadium.

Both versions refer to the same venue. The official IPL directory lists a capacity of 47,165, making it the third-largest primary team ground after Ahmedabad and Kolkata.

Mumbai Indians Home Venue: Wankhede Stadium

Wankhede Stadium is Mumbai Indians’ primary home ground in Mumbai. The IPL-listed capacity is 33,210.

Mumbai has several major cricket grounds, including Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. A Mumbai Indians home fixture should not be assumed to be at Wankhede until the schedule names the venue.

Punjab Kings Home Venue: New Chandigarh Stadium

Punjab Kings use the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh as their primary home ground. The venue is also known as Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium and is located at Mullanpur.

These different names often create confusion in search results. New Chandigarh Stadium, Mullanpur Stadium and Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium can refer to the same PBKS venue. It should not be confused with the older PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Rajasthan Royals Home Venue: Sawai Mansingh Stadium

Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur is Rajasthan Royals’ main home ground. It has the smallest listed capacity among the ten primary venues at 23,400.

Rajasthan Royals have used secondary home venues in other seasons, including Guwahati. That history does not confirm Guwahati for IPL 2027, and the match schedule must settle the allocation.

M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s primary home ground. The IPL directory lists its capacity as 33,677.

Some older searches still use Bangalore or Royal Challengers Bangalore. The current franchise and city spelling is Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but those older terms normally point to the same team and stadium.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Home Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium

Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is the home ground of Sunrisers Hyderabad. It is located in the Uppal area of Hyderabad, so the stadium may also appear in searches as Uppal Stadium.

The official IPL directory lists a capacity of 39,952. This venue should not be confused with other grounds carrying the Rajiv Gandhi name in India.

Could IPL 2027 Have More Than Ten Venues?

Yes. Ten franchise home grounds do not necessarily mean the season will use only ten stadiums. IPL teams sometimes split home fixtures between a primary ground and a secondary city. Playoff venues can also be selected separately from regular home allocations.

IPL 2026 used additional grounds in places such as Dharamsala, Guwahati and Raipur. That precedent makes them relevant venue possibilities, but none should be added to the confirmed IPL 2027 list until the BCCI publishes the schedule or a venue announcement.

Where Will the IPL 2027 Final Be Played?

The IPL 2027 final venue has not been announced. Narendra Modi Stadium has staged recent high-profile IPL matches and finals, but its past use does not confirm it for the 2027 final.

The same rule applies to the opening match, Qualifier 1, Eliminator and Qualifier 2. A venue becomes final only when it appears in an official IPL schedule or later BCCI update.

Use the stadium printed against the exact match number on the fixture list. A team’s main home ground alone is not enough because home games can be split between cities or moved later.
